An update on COVID-19:

To our Daytrippers community,

The health, safety and well-being of our volunteers, guests and community partners is our top priority and we are following the lead of the Canadian public health authorities at this time.

Battle of the Brains Event

With growing global concerns around COVID-19, we will be cancelling the Battle of the Brains event originally scheduled for May 7th. We will continue to monitor the situation and if circumstances allow, we will be re-scheduling for a date prior to September 2020. If that opportunity is not possible, then we look forward to seeing everyone in May of 2021.

Please reach out to daytrippersbattleofthebrains@jstproductions.ca if you have any questions or concerns or would like to discuss the re-allocation of funds.

Trips Funding

We are monitoring recent initiatives to limit the spread of COVID-19, including school and exhibit closures across the country.  Our volunteers are still actively managing our trips application process, reviewing receipts and preparing payments for trips that have already taken place. Please note that:

  • We will fund all approved trips that we receive receipts for
  • To avoid lost cheques during school closures, we will hold mailing cheques until schools re-open
  • If your school is able to receive the cheque, despite closure, please email us at tripsadmin@daytrippers.ca
  • We are assuming trips planned for March-April will be cancelled given social distancing guidelines and exhibit closures If you have any questions or concerns regarding your application, please reach out to us at tripsadmin@daytrippers.ca

Wishing you and yours health and well-being during this difficult time.

The Daytrippers Team

WHAT WE DO

We raise funds for trips to recognized educational and cultural institutions for school groups in lower-income and far-reaching areas. Why? We believe that every student should have the opportunity to visit unique places of learning: from museums to art galleries to conservation areas and beyond.

UNLOCKING CHILDREN'S POTENTIAL THROUGH ENRICHING EXPERIENCES

With 100% volunteers and no paid salaries, approximately 97 cents out of every dollar raised goes directly to funding school trips. Although we are proud and passionate about our success, there's lots more to do.

OUR VISION
Champion experiences for Canadian children that build confidence, curiosity, and bright futures.

OUR MISSION
Enable enriching learning opportunities for in-need children across Canada, by removing financial barriers of access to education and cultural experiences.

We believe that every student should have the opportunity to visit unique places of learning: from museums to art galleries to conservation areas and beyond. Every child deserves the right to learn about the world outside their classroom but not every school can afford to fund these trips.

We work with teachers and our partners to open doors and provide opportunities for children to unlock their full-potential by learning through experiences on school trips that children will remember for a lifetime.

OUR CORE VALUES
At Daytrippers Children's Charity, we align our efforts to achieve our vision and mission by focusing on our core values.

OUR MODEL
As a non-profit, we raise charitable donations that allow us to fund educational experiences outside of the traditional classroom environment. We rely on a mix of corporate and personal donations, secured through annual fundraising and sponsorships. We look to align our areas of focus to those populations most in need of financial support and seek to educate on opportunities within their local footprints.

OUR MISSION

Work with us to enable enriching learning opportunities for in-need children across Canada.

BATTLE OF THE BRAINS

Quoted as one of the funniest charity nights of the year, this interactive trivia contest with business and civic leaders across Canada is conducted over a gourmet meal, black tie, and cocktails.
