We're pleased to partner with a number of organizations offering in-school, virtual and/or onsite programming that our funding can be used to support. Explore the organizations below to continue to bring experiential learning to your students!

Manitoba Theatre for Young People (MTYP)

MTYP is one of the largest theatres in Canada dedicated solely to children’s theatre and education. The company operates a Theatre School where over 1,500 children and teens learn the art and craft of theatre and related disciplines. Our Native Youth Theatre program offers free classes in theatre and related disciplines to Winnipeg’s Indigenous youth.

Here are some examples of workshops offered:

  • Creative Drama (Preschool-Grade 6): A fun and encouraging introduction to drama. This workshop empowers students’ imagination and self-expression through games, movement exercises and story theatre.
  • Improv Power (Grades 3-12): Students experience the thrill and total freedom of creating theatre without a script while developing skills in communication, listening and teamwork.

Roseneath Theatre

Roseneath Theatre is a touring theatre company for Young Audiences. We bring our plays to school gymnasiums and auditoriums throughout Ontario. Our plays support cultural literacy, address specific curriculum expectations and promote character and values education. All performances have study guides created by respected educators in subject-related fields that provide activities and discussion questions relating to the performance. Roseneath is dedicated to helping our children learn in these unusual times, to grow into young adults and make responsible socially informed decisions in the new normal we’re building together - so we are offering virtual workshops! We are working towards virtual and social-distanced solutions to bring our performances to schools across Ontario in the 2020/2021 season.
